We started to get a smell in the van and it turned out to be the heater core so we had it replaced. Know we get heat from the vents but when we turn it to defrost it turns on the air button from outside instead of staying on recerculation and the defrost will not get hot. We have to turn to vents to get heat and when the windows fog up we have to turn back to defrost. This get aggrivating can you please help. I don't know a lot about cars.

how long has it been since they put the heater core in? they messed up the controls as they put the heater core in take it back and tell them they were paid and it is not working properly and you want it to work properly like you paid for. if they don't want to fix it take them to small claims court and they will fix it or they will pay for it to be fixed.

i talked to the guy that put the heater core in and he said that the controle was bad because when you turn the defrost on the ac is coming on to. This was not happening before we took it to him. Is there a way to mess up the controles as your putting in the heater core or is it just bad luck? This was done about a week ago.
