Heater problem
2001 Chevy Venture 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 60,000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
my heater abruptly stopped working. I used the care in the am and the heat worked fine and then that evening the heat did'nt work at all. Blows only cold air. Prievious to this it did seem as if it did not blow as hard as it used to. I then noticed that shortly after i start my car the engine temp is very high but decreases as a drive and increases again when idleing? whats going on?

first off make sure the radiator is full of coolant.because you have to have coolant to make heat . next see if the cooling fans are comming on. when the temp hand gets just a little past 1/2 way idling the fans should come on. if not then put the heater control in defrost and see if the fans come on. if the fans still don't come on then the problem is the fans. if they come on with defrost on then the relay might be bad. the relays are in the box above the battery.
