My a/c blows hot air only in the rear vents. Any suggestions. The front blows very cold so it appears to have freeon and the compressor kicks on and off.

Hello,

If compressor kicks on and off frequently, say every 5 - 8 seconds that is good indication you are low on freon. Have it checked will need to have both low side and high side checked for correct pressure.

I had similar problem with my 03. Check low side and all was good and showed full. Checked high side and showed low so filled to high showed full and everything worked fine. You may also want it check for leaks.

I had the same problem this summer on my 2001 venture. I the back drivers side conpartment near the tailgate. There is a vent on the very bottom. THis is where the rear air is. Get a Haynes book from autozone to tell you how to remove the panels. Once you get to the air unit there is a valve there that flips back and forth with a motor. It is burned out. You can remove it and unplug it and manually flip it to cold again. You can get the repleacment switch at any parts store.
