1999 Chevy Venture

my mom used a copy of her key in her ignition and and it wouldn't turn. After that the Pass Key light came on and her original key wouldn't turn either. It is stuck in her driveway and a mechanic came out to look at it and couldn't fix it. Neither her or I can afford to take it to a mechanic again. What can I do to try to fix it?

Do you have any other keys at all. If not try this. Let the key off for a few minutes. Crank it over real quick and watch the security light blink. This will take between 10-30 min. Whenit stops, turn the key off for 10 seconds then try to restart.

She only has the original and a copy--but the problem is that the ignition place in the steering wheel won't even turn in order to try crank the car.

If it is stuck there isnt much you can do with out breaking something. Sorry. Just try to work it out. If not you will have to get it towed
