1999 Chevy Venture Air Flow meter

What are the symptoms of a bad air flow meter. Van just shut off as we were driving home. Steering wheel did not lock up. The water guage moved to hot, but the low coolant light did not turn on. Vehicle only turns of occationally.

An engine with a bad MAF sensor may be hard to start or stall after starting. It may hesitate under load, surge, idle rough or run excessively rich or lean. The engine may also hiccup when the throttle suddenly changes position.
