Oil gauge drops to o then picks up to 30lbs on and off when idel or driving? Engine runs great

Hi:
If the engine never makes any knocking or ticking sounds, it's most likely the oil sending unit. It's a cheap part. I would replace that to see if it takes care of the problem.
