Sirs, just last week I started my van and when I let off the gas it died, tryed again and still it died everytime! It will not run unless I hold my foot on the gas, then if I manage to get it in gear, I hear a pinging noise, but I cannot drive it to the gas station because it is really rough running, also i;am scared of getting stranded. I replaced the fuel pump a couple of years ago. I replaced the pcv valve and the breather filter about a month ago. This problem just started last week. Please help! My van engine is a 305 G-20. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You! Norma

Do you have a check engine light and when was it last tune-up?

Have these components tested: Idle air control valve, coolant temperature/throttle position/MAF/MAP sensors, EGR valve and to include a fuel pressure

Ms. Norma -is this a carbuerator or an electronic fuel injection fuel system? ( Throttle Body Injection or Multi Point Fuel Injection.

Won't maintain curb idle-could be a fuel pressure not within specs, idle air control valve, throttle position sensor weak spot/OOR /EGR valve open-and the list goes on-

B5 I checked it out Thank You Very Muchy-You good dawg, later dude-

have someone remove gas line at carb or injector inlet. turn key over check color of gas for water and trash , check pressure,
if not enough gas replace filter inside frame
rail passenger side, not enough gas
pitched lines on top of gas tank, from gas pump inside tank, pump has a filter on it also inside tank,, tank had to be dropped and cleaned.
