My friend just installed rebuilt SB 350 into his 85 edlebrock 750 cfm 4 barrel carb chevy pickup 4x4, Fresh tuneup / air filter / Fuel filter /etc. While out on a test run the truck would accelerate exc, No misses, Then after around 5-10mins of driving, Then motor would start to choke and cut out, Then shut down, No fuel is present in the line,Also all 8 cyl's have had compression test done, they are all reading above 150 psi, Also before may add, This engine before had this issue in the other truck, After the old mechanical pump, was replaced with the electrical pump it never did that. even well over 1 hour of driving. Now with back to the first question, The motor has went back to a mechanical H.O. volume fuel pump, Now its not sucking any fuel into the filter or fuel line, I was thinking something to do with the cam lobe or timing chain gear?

any Idea's?

thanks

Ok after a long process of trouble shooting, Inspecting, I found a problem with the rubber hose that connects sending unit on the fuel tank was cracked, In which allowed air to enter into the fuel line. Fixed the hose, No more problems with stalling or cutting out.
