My 1995 Chevy Lumina at engine start-up, idles very fast, after diving for a while the engine returns to normal idling. Now every now and then my service engine light will come on and then go out. What could be causing this, and does the Lumina have a check engine light and a service engine light?

It could possibly be your idle positioning sensor I have a lumina and they have a service engine soon light and it doesnt come on for anything except when you start the veihicle. Not sure why though. Good luck
