93 Chevy van G20 ignition

Can anyone tell me the position of the ignition wires from the distributor cap to the spark plugs?

I changed the spark plugs, the wiring, the distibutor cap and the rotor and now it won't start. It backfires like the cables are in the wrong position.

I consulted my Haynes manual but after checking 4 times it still doesn't run. :

Firing order is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 Clockwise. Usually nbr 1 is in front right on the cap from the outside of the car
