92 Chevy calalier

I have a 92 chevy calalier 2.2, 4cyl, my son took my car to work the other day, it drove good, no proublems going to work parked it and came out to come home and all it would do was whirl, engine would not start, we had it towed home my hubby changed the crankshaft sencer and still wont start, the timing belt looks good and is moving, we don't get no fire or fuel, after whirling for many times spart plugs still dry as powder, CAN ANYONE HELP US AND GIVE US A HINT AS TO WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS :( WE ARE JUST STUMPED AS TO WHAT TO TRY NEXT. Try this: sprinkle a small splash "1/2 a shot glass" of gas past the throtle body then try to start. This should tell you if you need gas or spark.

i would like to thank anyone that replyed to my question about my car and for anyone that would like to know the proublem it was my coil pack, so iam up and going again, hope this answer might help anyone in the future that might have the same proublem, thanks again.
