I recently replaced the fuel pump in the truck but I have a ticking sound under the hood. I heard it when I reversed and either when I am idle or sometimes I hear it when I accelerate. What should I be checking?

You may want to look at the fans relay and wiring. First I would look at a failed relay causing it to stay on. Secondly I would look at the wiring being shorted but that would be something you would want a repair center to do if you do not understand electricity.

1st I will check the heat shield maybe it got loose-or something else loose upfront if not these could be coming from the valvetrain-meaning valve lash adjustment or a leakdown problem with lifters.
