Car running fine. Fill up and drive approx 4 hours. Stop in heavy traffic after 4 hours at 50-70 mph and the engine dies. It starts after a couple of tries and I pull off into gas station. Low on water. I fill with water and gas and add injector cleaner. A couple more die and start episodes but gets better. After driving til down to 1/2 tank, I fill up and add more injector cleaner. Drove 2 to 3 hours to home with no problem at all. Next morning I checked water in radiator and had lost none. I left home to work and wife called and said car is up to old trick.

When it first starts after one of these episodes, it runs really rough with a sputtering sound, no power, and cannot accelerate motor or it dies. Advice?

On mine I had a problem simular to this. On mine it turned out to be the ignition coil . Mechanic said it was overheating and once it cooled down it would allow the vehichle to run fine. I believe most parts stores can test the ohmns on it and tell you if its good or not.
