Due to illness,my RV has sat idle for a year. I tried to start it and it started but I quickly turned it off. Is there anything special I should do after it has been sitting for a year without running?? Short run and shut down? Idle for 10 minutes before driving? Low speed short drive before real driving?

Thanks for help

I would take a thorough look around it. Check that tires are up and in good condition, nothing built a nest in the air cleaner box, check all fluid levels, lights (especially brake light) and anything else that comes to mind.

Start it and let it run idle till it reaches normal operating temperature. Start out by checking that the brakes function properly. A drive to the gas station for some fresh fuel and maybe a can of fuel injector cleaner.

Note any problems or concerns and head off for an oil change. Even if your locale does not require annual safety and emmision inspections have a safety inspection done of steering, suspension, and brake components.

An rv shop can do a pressure test on the propane system.

A good wash job and you are ready for the season.

Happy motoring. :)
