I have most likely one of the weirdest questions you will ever get. I have a 98 Chevy Silverado and I do a lot of working on cars trucks anything with an engine but with this truck I just want to know if I could get away with doing what I want to do without breaking the whole truck. What I have done is turned the torsion bar up about half of the bolt and that lifted the front of my truck but what I was going to do is I have a few steel plates that I was going to try and use to make lift blocks for the back of the truck and put them between the axle and the leaf springs. I know the U bolts are long enough to make it but I’m just wondering with a half inch piece of steel can be put between the two and tightened back down and the piece of steel wont come out some how and the axle wont come off of the steel. So what I wanted to ask is can I do that without risking really messing the back of my truck up?

yes you can. you will have to drill a hole in the center of metal plate. the leaf spring has a guide pin in the middle of it.
