pick-up vortec 5000 this vehicle failed inspection for # 5 cylinder missfire, replaced fuel filter, plug, distributor, coil, the truck run fine while driving, when at idle the the light comes back on. had the dealer checked they cleaned the fuel injectors, same result, cost $200.00 they said the problem is probally with one of the valve but not sure untill they remove the head and see, it could be the piston, the cost is about $2000.00 for replacing the head,if is the piston will be lot more. i want to replace the head myself, any help on this.
thanks

Why don’t you try compression test
and also do a cylinder leak test
switch injectors and check if code move to a different cylinder

good luck
