Hi, My 1997 Chevy Cavalier (87,000 miiles) has been having problems starting up the past few weeks. It takes awhile for the engine to turn over, but then finally does. Then if I turn the car off, and start it up again right afterwards, it starts up with no problem.
So far, I have been through a new spark plug, and a few new fuel pump injectors. Any other suggestions on what could be happening, my mechanic is at a lost!
Thanks!

By slow engine "turn over" do you mean slow cranking or is cranking ok but takes long time to start? If cranks ok is the fuel pressure in specs? Is spark ok? I lean toward either a flooded engine or a pump relay problem causing no pump activity until oil pressure is readable.
