I have a 1992 Chevy K-1500 pickup. The engine is a brand newly rebuilt 1995 v8 350 5.7L and I just installed it back in the truck. I believe I've done everything correctly, yet the temperature gauge reads maximum (too high). I put a brand new temperature gauge in it and new thermostat (although I don't think the thermostat was working so I took it out temporarilly). The radiator hoses get warm if not, then hot but they are squishy like there's no pressure or coolant is not being pumped properly. Also, I put in a new remanufactured water pump and I'm thinking that may be the problem. I need to figure out if the gauge is just broken or the sensor isn't functioning, or if the engine is actually that hot and isn't cooling for some reason.
