Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Chevy Truck V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
I have 1992 chevy k2500 4x4 pickup, 5.7L engine. Last week the truck would only start if i cranked it over and then put the gas pedal to the floor. Once it started it was running very rough and blowing black smoke when idling. The second i touched the gas pedal it would die. It has a new fuel pump and fuel filter. I tested the TPS, replaced spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor button, and the control module in the distributor. Checked for vaccum leaks, broken wires, etc. It appears to be getting good flow thru the fuel injectors and is getting spark from the coil. The spark at the sparkplug appears to be ok. Now it turns over but will not start at all. Would the MAP sensor or the Electronic Spark control module cause it to not start at all? Someone told me they had a similar problem and it was a tempature sensor on the intake manifold but his truck would start, just run rough and blow black smoke and would stall.
