I have a 1990 chevy with a 350 and it starts up fine runs fine but when I shift say into drive it will gasp and sputter as if its being choked. I thought maybe the fuel filter or water in the gas or even the fuel pump maybe but that wouldnt make sence cause when I shift into drive im in a lower rpm than I am in idle so im not sure. Thank for all your help

Is it an automatic trans. It sounds like a vacum leak in the tranny servo and. Or that servo is injesting tranny fluid up into the engine. Locate your servos pull of the vacum line inspect for fluid. Then trace it to the vacum sorce and disconnect it there and plug off and see if that improves the running. By going to the sorce will tell you if you have a leak in the vacum line itself. Good luck
