Got a new battery for this old truck. Was using it this morning and it was starting fine. Went to start it and nothing. No clicking. Battery is strong. What could it be? I had it in Park or neutral and still nothing. Help!

Hello,

It sounds like the ignition switch might be at fault here.
The ignition switch is the electrical component that the lock cylinder attaches to.
Over time the connector inside the switch will be worn and fail to make contact when the key gets turned. This will lead to no start, and it will not make any clicking noise or cranks as the power does not get provided to the starter.

The steering column does need to be taken apart in order to replace the ignition switch.

I have attached a diagram for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
