1985 Chevy Truck timing distributor?

Electrical problem
1985 Chevy Truck V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

when I try to start up my truck
the motor will turn over
I don't seem to be getting any spark
I try to set the TDC and set the no. Pole to the
no. 1 spark plug it still will not turn over
some times I get a backfire from the tail pipe
or carbutor but this is only when I have been trying to stark it for a period of time.

HELP I NEED MY TRUCK


I try to make a donation how ever my card was not

If you are sure you are at TDC, on compression stroke, put your thumb or finger over the plug hole and feel the compression, this tell you it's the compression stroke, then adjust the distributor, if it wont start now you have problems with the module, coil, or pick-up. Or a few bad tune up parts. Did the service engine soon light come on?
