Engine Mechanical problem
1979 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------
When i tried to start my 79 Chevy truck, it made a clicking sound, like a battery cable was loose. They where tight and the battery was old. I took in my starter to have it tested and it is still good. i bought a new battery and put my starter back in. Now the starter doesn't even try to engage. How many wires connect to the starter and is it possible to get them backwards?

Yes its possible to get the small wires backwards. Get a test llight and disconnect the wire or probe the wires with the test light, have someone turn the key to the crank position or start position the small wire that lights up should go on the S terminal and the other on the R terminal.
