I have had recent work on our trailblazer, a new serpintine belt, new battery, oil change, and now there is chirping under the hood the guy at the tune up shop said was the water pump even before he checked it in which makes me curious because everytime It goes there. There is something else wrong. Willl putting in anew water pump stop the chirping noice and ticking kinda whistling sound. Can it easily be done by my husband.
The mechanic guy said the fan was wobbling iand will evenyually fly off into the engine destroying the whole engine. Doess this sound correct, is it extremely dangerous driving? Thank you penny

I have had the same problem. I recently had to replace my water pump, 2nd in two years. The one that was on there was defective and it wore my fan clutch out so I had to replace that too.
So if you have changed the serpentine belt more than likely it is the waterpump. I would recommend that you get it repaired ASAP so it doesn't wear something else out.
