My trailblazer is in tip top shape with the exception of a new vibration that started recently. It vibrates loud when starting up and idling. Gets a little better when it idles. Otherwise it is quiet. Sometimes it jerks an rattles. Can really feel it with food on gas peddle. What's going on? Help!

Is the sound coming from under the vehicle?

It seems to be. It's more of a vibration when the car is idling. It is not as bad when the weather is warm (which we haven't had much of lately)!

I've had two mechanics look at it (one being a Chevy dealership). Dealership said that is just the way the car runs at this age (I don't think so); 2 second mechanic replaced the engine mount, to no avail. They said it could be one of many things. And without replacing parts to determine cause, they did not know what to do.

It's in tip top shape otherwise.I keep everything current and spent $ replacing cerpentine belt recently, transmission fluid, etc. Runs GREAT out on road. Just the rattle/vibration when starting and idling.

Take a rubber mallot and tap on the exhaust. Something tells me that either you have a loose heat shield or the catylatic converter has come loose inside. Try that and let me know if you can reproduce the sound.
