I am having a very frustrating problem with my AC. When I start my 2003 Trailblazer, the AC sometimes comes on and sometimes does not. If the ABS Light and the Brake Liight on the dashboard go off after starting the car, then the AC works perfect !

If the ABS Light and the Brake Light stay on, then the AC won't come on. Sometimes after driving for a while, these lights will go off and the AC will kick on.

I took it to the shop and they did a scanner test and then reprogrammed the Body Control module. It worked for a couple of days and then same thing started happening again.

I took it back to the shop and they did another scanner test and then REPLACED the Body Control Module. It worked for a couple of days and then same thing started happening again.

I took it back to the shop and they looked at it and said I had blown a fuse. Again, it worked for a couple of days and then the same thing IS HAPPENING AGAIN !

Please Help ! I am out $500 and still have the same problem that I went into the shop with. They don't seem to know what to do next.

Thanks for your help ! LBC

There is a tech bulliten on your type vehicle about the brake control module ground not being clean and tight, this also affects communication with other modules! If this is your problem, the fix is free. Under the drivers door on the frame locate the ground wire, the brake ground is the heavy 12 guage wire, remove the ground, use sandpaper or emory cloth and thoroughly clean it so it shines. Get a star washer and place the wire then the washer refasten it and it should now be good! Replacement of the module is not needed!

Ground location in manual is shown as G304 outside left frame rail near brake module.
