2002 Trailblazer Four Wheel Drive non-responsive

I have a 2002 trailblazer 4x4 V6 with 86,000 miles. Recently my four wheel drive knob that controls shifting from two wheel drive to four, has become non-responsive. The lights that indicate the position are out too.

This started after I shifted from four wheel drive to two wheel drive while moving in reverse.

Any help is appreciated.
