Does anyone know what causes a persistent clicking noise coming from behind the instrument panel?
It started as a periodic thing and is now continuous. It seems like something is trying to activate and cannot?

Your best bet would be to remove the sound shield under the dash and see if you can locate what is making the noise, it is most likely a relay clicking.Does everythign in the vehicle work normally? no security ligths or anything? Any aftermarket electronics installed? (alarms)

Sorry, been on vacation.

Everything in the vehicle seems to work normally, except the mirror memories (which have not worked right for years). No aftermarket devices and no repairs.

Where is the sound barrier you refered to?
