I've driven Chevrolet trucks for a number of years and never had a problem with the cooling systems on 3 of them, ah but number four roles around and I'm in trouble. My 1996 Tahoe starts leaking fluid on a cold morning after a drive no more than 50 miles, I noticed it was low two weeks ago and added it to the overflow reservoir. its leaking I think on the front driver side of the motor. can you help me?

it's probably going to be the water pump leaking from the weep hole which would be mid engine , the lower intake leaking right behind the egr valve (with a good light you can see this) and or one of the hoses or radiator. if you let it run to operation temperature shut it down then check you should be able to find it. if you need more help let us know.

Ah Ha. The old coolant leak from the Tahoe. It very well may be the water pump. However, these motors are famous for intake manifold gaskets to fail. I'm pretty sure the weep hole on the pump is on the passengers side of your motor. If the fluid is coming from the drivers side specifically it's probably, the notorious, intake manifold gasket. If you are patient and mechanically inclined this is not so bad to fix. Let me know how you make out...
