First, thank you for providing this service. I have a 2001 Tahoe with 131K miles. The front A/C blows as cold as the day I bought it. Recently, the back just blows air and does not cool. Being as how they are on the same compressor and the front still gets ice cold I am at a loss to understand what is the problem.

You still have two lines going to the rear high and low
check if the two lines have a difference in temp
if not suspect the orifice valve

BMRFIXIT, Thanks for the answer. I failed to mention that the A/C is also making a loud clattering sound under the hood. Sounds kinda like a lifter rod but the noise ceases immedeately after I turn off the A/C.

Read somewhere about an accumilatior valve preventing the cool air from being vented to the rear? Make any sense to you?

Sorry to be a pain but times are tough and I just don't want to pay for a bunch of repairs only to find the problem persisit (my luck)

Thanks again!
