Recently had a blown head gasket replaced by local repair shop. Now when ever you start the vehicle in the morning after it has been sitting for several hours it makes a herrendous knocking noise until it has been driven for about 2 miles. It sounds like there is no oil in the eninge. Oil pressure guage reads about 35psi. Have taken back to the repair shop. They indicate they have increased the weight of the oil and put a new oil filter on. They seem to be unable to determine the problem. Hopefully you have some advice, spent $1400 and now the car sounds like a bomb.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

I would be getting the start up oil pressure tested, I would like to see the readings for cold idle, hot idle and hot 1500RPM, if this is low oil pressure and you keep driving it with this knock, you will destroy the engine.
