Electrical problem

is there a such thing as a "reset switch" for a fuel pump? if so.... where is it? my gas gauge hasnt worked since i bought it used about 3 months ago and after running out of gas several times in the last month, im afraid ive burned out my fuel pump. now the truck wont start and im afraid of getting screwed over again on repairs. please help....
