Recently replaced fuel pump and filter and it ran great after that 6 months later when i try to accelerate like im merging into traffic when it goes to downshift it acts like it doesn't want to ...it attempts to but then goes right back into the higher gear ...or when it does down shift it seems like it is starved for fuel and kinda feel like the engine is skipping or getting spirts of fuel . When i ease the throttle on and do it slow enough that it doesnt need to down shift it runs fine and will easily get to highway speeds although i do feel a very slight hesitation or engine roughness. There are no engine codes so any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried some throttle body cleaner in the throttle body, sometimes over time some carbon can get a build up and play games with the way the vehicle runs.

Yes I did that and had a slight improvement but that wasn't it ....someone had said that it might be the coil going bad and that sometimes it wouldn't throw a code for that. I did notice that if I go from a stop and press the gas firmly it seems to accelerate and shift normally but say I'm on the highway and I try to pass ot merge into traffic and it has to downshift that's when I normally have the issue of poor acceleration ....almost like its hitting a rev limiter but its only at 2000 rpm ...
