The original problem was that my truck would not start. After a couple of tests I realized the fuel pump was not working. I took off the tank and pull the motor out of the pump. Sure enough the pump motor had all but siezed. After replacing the pump motor the performance was good again. However, within about a mile of driving with the new pump motor, I began to hear a loud sound coming from the pump motor. It literally sounds like when your ears are ringing (As you can imagine it is extremely annoying). Additionally, the longer you drive, the louder the squealing becomes. I've read around on the internet that others have encountered the same situation, after replacing the fuel pump motor but, I have not been able to find a remedy for the problem.

So I have driven with the pump motor as it is for two weeks now and my engine performance has decreased significantly, as well. Now after the engine warms up the truck has no power. When the engine is cold, if I step on the gas hard it revs all the way, no problem. Now when the engine has been runing for ten minutes or more, if you floor it even while in neutral the RPM's will not go past 3500. But, if you step on the gas gently it well rev all the way.

So this is where I am. I have pulled the tank off again tested the pump without the fuel lines connected and there is no squealing but if connect the fuel lines it does squeal. At this point it appears the pump motor is working fine. I even tried attaching a tube to the fuel pump and pinched the line to see if a blockage would cause the pump motor to squeal under a higher pressure. That had no effect other than pushing a rather tight tube off its connection and spraying fuel everywhere. At least that suggests the pump motor is very strong.

I have also changed the fuel filter which did have some sediment in it but not an amount significant enough to make a difference, I imagine.

Please help. At this point I am utterly confused.
