Engine Performance problem
1997 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I need to replace the fuel pump on my 97 Tahoe 4-door. I have been told that you can purchase & replace just the pump without having to purchase the whole module (pump & sending unit) Then again I've been told you have to purchase the whole module if its a 4-door model. Which is correct?

Hello and thanks for donating

The 4 door model is normally only sold as a complete module / strainer assembly. It is a good thing to replace the strainer and filter when replacing the fuel pump anyways. Most manufacturer's void their warranty if you do not replace strainer at same time.

Yes I i know this, so are you saying that the pump can be replaced without a new module?

The 4 door model no, the 2 door model yes...

You MIGHT find a pump only kit online such as ebay.com , but the brand would be such a low grade that it wouldn't be worth it.
