I have a 1995 Tahoe with a 5.7 and a 4L60 Transmission. When the truck is cold it will shift into drive. I can make it out of my driveway and the transmission stops working. I wait for it to cool off and it works again. As soon as the tranny oir heats up it seems to loose all pressure. Any idea what this might be?

If haven't already done so, you'll need to drop the transmission pan. When you have it off, if there are metal shavings, the transmission is toast.

I have 2 of these now (4x4) and had another one previously. The transmissions are the weakest point of the truck (imho). If you don't care for it (change the fluid every 30k), they will fail.

I have droped the pan and changed th fluid. It was not burned and no shavings in it. Even now when it act's like it is out of gear their is no abnormal sound coming from the transmission and the fluid still smells good. I have changed the oil every 30,000 miles and had the transmission flushed at 100,000

Is there an error code (check engine light)?

I had one that failed like this without a code/light, and one fail with the code/light.

The one without the code/light required a complete replacement. The one with the code/light only required the plate in the transmission to be replaced. $2,200 vs. $650 by the same transmission shop.
