300,000+miles

About a year ago, I had to stop suddenly. The 'brake light' and the 'abs' light came on.

Since then, the radio/clock stuck on 1:00 and won't work.

Then, I noticed the brake lights weren't working. The turn signals, parking lights, and headlights all work.

We changed the 'stop switch' and the bulbs, along with the fuses.

I'm wondering if the radio is related to the brakes in any way. I'm hoping I can just put in a new radio. Any clues as to how to fix the brakes?

Any help would be appreciated. This is only car that will carry my entire family. Thanks.

When this happen was there anything that could have shifted around and pulled on the wires. You say you changed stop light switch, do you have current going to it? Where the fuses blown out on the radio or for brakes? Try disconnecting the radio and see if anything happens. Let me know.

Don't think I unhooked anything. The radio has its moments. It would work some and then just go off. Now, it doesn't work at all.

Didn't get a current reading on the "stop switch'. We just bought another and changed it, due to someone told us that would fix it.

Hubby is going to take off the steering column cover and check the wiring. We do have tilt steering, so I'm hoping it is bent or pierced somewhere along the line.

Thanks for answering so quick!!
