At times when I drive for 15 miles or more than park for a short while my engine wont start this does not happen all the times
although it has happened 3 times this week. Yesterday it would not start at all and I had to be towed home, as soon as the tow truck released me it started right up does a fuel pump act like this when it is going bad.

Yes, a GM fuel pump does have those characteristics you described. And it gets better. If it's an intermittant problem a fuel pressure test may not catch it in the act. If there are no codes, and the fuel filter is recent, and there is power to the pump when it dosen't start, replace the fuel pump.

Buy a GM Delphi fuel pump. They are available at Advance Auto Parts and many others.
