Engine Performance problem
1999 Chevy Suburban V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

On my 1999 Chevy Suburban I have replaced the fuel pump twice this time I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter you hear the fuel pump come on and I remove the fuel filter and gas pours out when you turn the key on so I replace fuel filter as well but the truck will not start. If you spary starting fuild into the breather it will crank but once starting fuild burns up engine dies what could be the problem??

I also have 99 Suburban that ran great right up until last Saturday. It cranks over, has a spark, the fuel pump relay works, but the fuel pump isn't running?

It seems strange that it would run right up until we shut it off and than not run since? I suspect it's the fuel pump but hate to start replacing parts unless I'm sure of what is wrong?

I have a 1997 that did the same thing. We put 5 pumps in it before someone said quit with the pumps already & check the harness. Didn't know what I was doing but rolled under the truck drivers side just in front of the rear tire. Just on top of the gas tank there was a wire harness with 1 wire hanging by a thread. I twisted it back up, taped it & haven't had that trouble again since then...hope you will be as lucky !!!
