Our suburban is vibrating considerably when accelerating. It starts about 30 miles per hour and smooths out once speed reaches over about 40 mph.

Check the u-joints and the pinion roller bearing. To check the pinion bearing, take the drive shaft off of the rear end yoke. Wiggle the rear end yoke up and down. If it moves at all--up and down or side to side--the pinion bearing is failing. Common problem.--Let me know how you make out.....
