MY SUB (5.7) HAS 205000 MILES WITH A REBUILT ENGINE INSTALLED ABOUT 40000 MILES AGO. IT SMELLS RICH AND FUEL MILEAGE IS 10-12 MPG. THE EGR VALVE WAS GIVING ME A PROBLEM SO A FRIEND UNHOOKED IT. BUT WITH THE PRICE OF GAS NOW I'M WONDERING ITS COSTING ME. WOULD THIS CAUSE MY RICH COND?
IT HAS THESE NEW PARTS.
CAP, ROTOR, WIRES, RAPID FIRE PLUGS, INJECTORS, FUEL TANK, PUMP, FUEL FILTER, K&N AIR FILTER, 3" EXHAUST

Yours oxygen sensor(s) could be bad or not reading properly. The Oxygen or O2 sensor reads the amount oxygen in the exhaust and richens or leans the motor if an o2 sensoe is reading bad it may be sending to much fuel into the motor
