I was wondering if i should first check the fuses under my hood before takeing the alternator to get tested. If its not the fuse or alternator what could it be?

First of all I want to relaxes, take a deep breath and start over...............tell me again what's happening to your suburban, I figured out so far it will not start is that correct? is the battery charged up? do you have any way of checking it? tried turning on your headlights, if they are bright the battery is good, when you turn the key to start it tell me what happened? I don't think the alternator at this point has anything to do with it or the fuses, answer my questions and get back to me.
