1997 Chevy SilveradoTruck died while driving

Engine sputtered and died while driving. Changed the fuel filter still wont start. Need help to troubleshoot what it might be. Dont have a lot of money to pay mechanic to troubleshoot was hoping to point him in the right direction from the get go. Thank you for any help you can provide

Hello, you need a gage to check fuel pressure. Have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. If you have plenty of spark, you might try some starter fluid in the intake, see if the vehicle will try to start. There could be some safety issues using a flammable spray. The responsibility is yours.
