Differential Noise

I have a 1997 Chevy C1500 P/u. For awhile now its been making a whine sound, sounds like from differential. Usually comes around 20 mph and stays on. Gets louder and louder as the faster I go. Only makes whine when accelerating or keeping constant speed. Ring and pinion bearing? Or worn R&P?

Sound like you may have the old ring and pinion whine, but tell you the truth I never do a gear set without replacing all of the bearings, its only about 100 bucks more and its the right way
