Hello,
I currently drive a 1993 Chevrolet K1500 silverado truck. I've had the truck around two years. It has a 5.7L 350 engine with about 137,000 miles. While the mileage is high the engine has always run great. Recently this summer, the oil pressure gauge reads at or below 15psi when the engine is warm, and in gear. The oil pressure returns to near 30psi or above during accelerations, or higher RPMs, yet only returns to lower readings when at stoplights, etc. While I understand the oil heats up, and becomes thinner, the oil pressure should still not become some low. If it is any concern, I changed the oil around a month ago with 10w-30 Valvoline high mileage, yet the problem was occurring before that. Any information would be great. Thank you

I had the same problem with my 94 with 117,000 on it.I tested with a mech. gauge and replaced the sending unit, pulled the pan and checked the bearings were in spec. And even replaced the oil pump just because I was that far in .Nothing seemed to help so I now use 10W40 with a oil stabilizer and I got 30psi+ at a hot idle, and over 40psi running down the road.I know its not what every one says to do but it worked for me
when nothing else did.
