2003 Chevy Silverado brake lights will not go out

Brake lights will not turn off--when remove fuse, they will go out, but when fuse is replaced they stay on--
Truck would not start, so had to jump it

Betty most likely cause is a stuck brake light switch, try disconnecting it and see if they go gout
