My question is this.I have a standard 2002 Z-71 with power adjustable mirrors (not heated and not retractable). I want to add power towing mirrors that have defrost and are retractable. I need to know if they retract manually or is it done electrically with a switch my truck may not have. Will my wiring harness support these mirrors even though it was not installed as an option on my truck? Were the wiring harnesses installed the same from the factory regardless of mirror type? My mirrors have power, but they are not heated like these. Also, how does the defrost on these activate? Is it automatic like when you turn on your regular defrost?

The retract is power on the new mirrors and is done with a switch that your truck doesnt have. To see if the wiring harness will woek you need to se if there are any pins not being used, but I doubt that your truck will have the correct harness in it. You can buy the harness and it should plug into the existing power center. The defrost usually comes on with rear window defrost since it is electric and the front windshield uses the a/c. Try going here and looking it up to see the differences

Thanks for the reply. I was watching the set on ebay, so I will probably let them go by. It was a good deal so that is why I was thinking of getting them.
