The TCM (trans control module) controls when the shift happens. However, the shift solenoid makes it shift. Is the engine reving higher than normal before shifting? Have any warning lights come on?

Let me know.

No the engine rpms don't change, just shifts hard and quick, no engine lights.

It sounds like a bad shift solenoid. I would have that checked first.

Let me know what you find.
