How do you know when to replace ball joints or upper or lower tie rods on a chevy silverado? Is it bad to put 20"rims on this truck? Do I go back and put the original tires and rims back to avoid problems in suspension and brakes problems?

Place a jack under the lower control arm and jack the truck until tire is about an inch of the ground place a bar under tire and while holding the end of the bar place other hand on top of tire
pull the bar up and push with your hand on tire in if movement felt you need ball joint
