I've changed spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, MAF sensor, been through a couple tanks of gas.

Usually when starting hot or cold it idles rough for a few minutes then runs fine. Going up hills, or running on freeway it will without reason run rough and even stall. Eventually it will begin running fine and get me home. Check engine light has been on for a couple of months now. Codes say it runs lean, and was told to change out the MAF sensor, brand new aftermarket MAF, no change in performance. I suspent a weak fuel pump due to problems uphill or high RPMs on freeway but really don't know. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I'll get a code reader and give more specific info.

First, what is the code--letter and number? Just changing things without properly testing them will result in a costly and time consuming repair--as you probably have noticed--a MAF sensor is not cheap.
What brand of plugs and wires did you put in? A/C Delco brand is the only brand of ignition components that will work properly in your truck. I know they are a little more expensive but trust me on this one.
